Diving Course
This four-day course includes theoretical learning, skills in the swimming pool, and four open water dives in the ocean. You will be given all the skills and knowledge to become a competent diver at a slow and relaxed pace that suits you. You will be provided all equipment and materials needed to complete the course, and you can even choose which language you’d like to learn in to make your experience more enjoyable and comfortable.

Requirements
- Age: 12 years or older
- Time commitment: Approximately 8 – 15 hours course prerequisites
- Able to swim
- Medically fit for diving
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development
Knowledge development (online / independent study / in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving.
Confined Water Dives
Confined water dives are to learn basic scuba skills.
Open Water Dives
Open water dives are to use your skills and explore.
Itinerary.
Day 1: Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) – Sigiriya Lion Rock Village
Once you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), Sri Lankan Tour Hub’s guides will pick you up from the airport. Then, you will directly be transferred to the hotel in Sigiriya, Sri Lanka. The journey will be 3 hours and 31 minutes (143.3 kilometers) via Colombo Jaffna – Colombo Road.
On this day, the guides will show you the city and village around Sigiriya. You will check-in and there, you will enjoy local foods and Sri Lankan style cocktails. Afterward, you can visit a village, the lakeside, elephant bathing, or take a rest as you wish.
Day 2: Sigiriya Lion Rock – Pidurangala Rock – Trincomalee Beach
You will begin your day by enjoying a breakfast buffet (a combination of Sri Lankan and Western foods changing daily). You will have a motorcycle tour to the Sigiriya Lion Rock; one of the most popular places in this wonderful country.
The Sigiriya Rock and garden is an archaeological complex composed of ruins of an ancient palace, monastery, and other buildings declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. A local guide will explain to you what you must know.
After this excursion, the team has organized a motorcycle tour to visit Pidurangala Rock and the temple. You will have free time to enjoy the day till 2 p.m. and after lunchtime, you will travel to the Trincomalee dive campsite (2 hours 30 minutes – 143.6 kilometers away) and then you will move to watch other landscapes, lakes, and accommodation. You will also have a chance to feel the evening sunset at Koneswaram Hindu Temple in Trincomalee. You will have your dinner on the beach and then go back to your accommodation to relax.
Day 3: 2 Diving Sessions at Suwami Rocks and Cave – Snorkeling at Marble Beach
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (of both Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). This will be day 1 of your diving career. The diving class starts at 9 a.m. for beginners while intermediate or advanced divers will be transferred to the diving spot directly. Take your theory and practical lesson on the beach and shallow water. At around 12 p.m., the session will end for the day and you will be back to the accommodation for lunch.
In the evening, you will have a tuk tuk tour to Marble Beach and you can have snorkeling sessions at the beautiful beach. Then, head back to camp and you will enjoy a barbecue grilled dinner or Sri Lankan food and take a rest.
Day 4: Snorkeling Camp Around Pigeon Island
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (of both Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). At 9 a.m., you will start heading to Pigeon Island by boat with your snorkeling equipment along with a mobile tent. The 20-minute journey will take you to the island and you will set up your camp at the beach according to your selection. You will have a snorkeling guide and you can be snorkeling around the island as you like with the support of the guide.
The hotel will deliver the pre-ordered lunch to the campsite and you are free to taste your lunch at the campsite. You will stay till 4 p.m. at the campsite and you can do as you wish (like snorkeling or resting). You will return to the accommodation at around 5 p.m. and you will enjoy your evening with dinner while relaxing.
Day 5: Whale Watching Tour – Tour Ends
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (of both Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). Today, you will have an early bird tea with some fruits. At around 6:30 a.m., you will take the boat to start the whale watching tour. It will end before 9 a.m. and once you return to the accommodation, you will have your late breakfast. This will be the last day of your diving career with the team. Check out is by 12 p.m. Grab some photos in the surf camp to show off to your friends.
