Course.
This course includes theoretical learning, skills in the swimming pool, and four open water dives in the ocean. You will be given all the skills and knowledge to become a competent diver at a slow and relaxed pace that suits you. You will be provided all equipment and materials needed to complete the course, and you can even choose which language you’d like to learn in to make your experience more enjoyable and comfortable.

Requirements
- Age: 12 years or older
- Time commitment: Approximately 8 – 15 hours course prerequisites

The PADI Open Water Diver Course Consists Of Three Main Phases:
Knowledge Development
Knowledge development (online/independent study / in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving.
Confined Water Dives
Confined water dives are to learn basic scuba skills.
Open Water Dives
Open water dives are to use your skills and explore.
Itinerary.
Day 1: Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) – Wilpattu National Park Camping Site
Once you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), Sri Lankan Tour Hub’s guides will pick you up from the airport. Then, you will directly be transferred to the safari camp in Wilpattu, Sri Lanka. The journey will be 3 hours and 28 minutes (160.3 kilometers) via Colombo Puttalam Road/Puttalam – Colombo Road/A3.
On this day, the guides will show you the city and village around Wilpattu National Park. You will check-in and meet the team. There, you will enjoy local foods and Sri Lankan style cocktails. Afterward, you can visit a village, the lakeside, or take a rest as you wish.
Day 2: Wilpattu Safari – Trincomalee – Hindu Temple
You will begin your day by enjoying a breakfast buffet, a combination of Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily. You will have an adventure safari or professional wildlife guiding at the Wilpattu National Park. You can collect your basic camera equipment and start your adventure safari.
Here, you will have the opportunity to see a lot of leopards, wild elephants, water buffalo’s, alligators, bears, deer, and various kinds of birds. You will have a jungle camp experience by going on a safari with the wildlife guide and team (transportation in a 4×4 off-road Jeep). Safari will end at 12 p.m. Go back to the hotel and you will have your lunch on your adventure campsites.
After lunchtime, you will travel to the Trincomalee dive campsite which takes around 2 hours 30 minutes (143.6 kilometers) and then you will move to watch other landscapes, lakes, and accommodation. You will also have a chance to see an evening sunset at Koneswaram Hindu Temple in Trincomalee. You will have your dinner on the beach and then go back to your accommodation to relax.
Day 3: 2 Diving Sessions at Suwami Rocks and Cave – Snorkeling at Marble Beach
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). This will be day 1 of your diving career. The diving class starts at 9 a.m. for beginners. Intermediate or advanced divers will be transferred to the diving spot directly. Take your theory and practical lesson on the beach and shallow water. At around 12 p.m., the session will end for the day and you will be back to the accommodation for lunch.
In the evening, you will have a tuk tuk tour to Marble Beach and you can have snorkeling sessions at the beautiful beach. After that, head back to camp and you will enjoy a barbecue grilled dinner or Sri Lankan food and take a rest.
Day 4: Whale Watching – 2 Discover Diving Sessions
Today, you will have an early bird tea with some fruits. At around 6:30 a.m., you will board the boat to start the whale watching tour. It will end before 9 a.m. and once you return to the accommodation, you will have your late breakfast.
At 11 a.m., you will start the discover diving sessions at various places. The diving sessions will end at around 1 p.m. and you are free to have your lunch at the accommodation. In the evening at around 4 p.m., you will bath at the natural hot water wells located in Kinnia. You will then return to the accommodations at around 6:30 p.m. and you will enjoy your evening with dinner while relaxing.
Day 5: Snorkeling Camp Around Pigeon Island
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). At 9 a.m., you will start heading to Pigeon Island by boat with your snorkeling equipment along with your mobile tent. The 20-minute journey will take you to the island and you will set up your camp on the beach according to your selection. You will have a snorkeling guide and you can snorkel around the island as you like with the support of the guide.
The hotel will deliver the pre-ordered lunch to the campsite and you are free to taste your lunch in the camp site. You will stay till 5 p.m. at the campsite and you can do as you wish (snorkeling or resting). You will return to the accommodation at around 6 p.m. and you will enjoy your evening with dinner while relaxing.
Day 6: Two Diving Sessions – Snorkeling Tour
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). This will be day five of your diving career. The diving class starts at 9 a.m. for beginners. For intermediate or advanced divers, they will be transferred to the diving spot directly. Take your theory and practical lesson on the beach and shallow water. Around 12 p.m., the session will end for the day and you will go back to the accommodation for lunch.
In the evening, you will have a tuk tuk tour to Marble Beach and you can have a snorkeling session at the beautiful beach. As you head back to camp, you will enjoy a barbecue grilled dinner or Sri Lankan food and take a rest.
Day 7: Pollonnaruwa Historical Site
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). After breakfast, you will start heading to Polonnaruwa World Heritage Site. You will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. After lunch, you will start exploring the ancient ruin of Polonnaruwa. You will then return to the accommodations at around 7 p.m. and you will enjoy your evening with dinner while relaxing.
Day 8: Polonnaruwa – Anuradhapura Historical Site
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). After breakfast, you will start exploring the rest of the Polonnaruwa World Heritage Site. After lunch, you will start heading to Anuradhapura and you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. At around 5 p.m., you will start visiting the ancient Anuradhapura city and will be back to the hotel at around 7 p.m. You will enjoy your evening with dinner while relaxing.
Day 9: Anuradhapura – Dambulla Royal Cave Temple – Sigiriya
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). After breakfast, you will start exploring the rest of the Anuradhapura World Heritage Site. After lunchtime, the guides will be going to show you the Dhambulla Royal Golden Temple and Rock Cave Temple before you reach the Sigiriya village and accommodation.
After visiting Dambulla Temple and continuing to Sigiriya at around 5 p.m., it’s time to enjoy elephant bathing and village life. You can enjoy motorcycling and some visits. The guide will arrange and show you activities as you wish. There will be free time at the accommodation for you to rest or do as you wish.
Day 10: Sigiriya Lion Rock – Pidurangala Rock – Motorcycle Tour
You will begin your day by enjoying a breakfast buffet (a combination of Sri Lankan and Western foods changing daily). You will have a motorcycle tour to the Sigiriya Lion Rock; the most popular place in this wonderful country.
The Sigiriya Rock and garden is an archaeological complex composed of ruins of an ancient palace, monastery, and other buildings declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. A local guide will explain to you what you must know.
Then, you will have free time to enjoy your day as you wish. The team has organized a motorcycle tour for you to visit Pidurangala Rock and the temple.
You will also have a chance to see an evening sunset. You will go back by bike. You will have your dinner at the river edge restaurant. Enjoy your night and then go back to your accommodation and relax.
Day 11: Sigiriya – Matale Spice Garden – Kandy City – Tour Ends
After breakfast, you will depart, accompanied by the guides to Kandy City. The guides will show you the spice garden in Matale village. There, you can explore Sri Lankan spices, natural trees, and Ayurvedic medicine.
You will have your lunch after visiting the spice garden. Then, it’s time to enjoy the lakeside and city life. You can enjoy activities as you wish.
