Day 1:- Rawana Water Fall – Rawana Cave – Nine Arch Bridge & Little Adams’peak
Once you arrive at Ella, Sri Lankan Tour Hub’s guides will pick you up and then, you will directly be transferred to the hotel. You will check-in and meet the team. There, you will enjoy local foods and Sri Lankan style cocktails. On this day, the guides will show you the Ella city and village around. Afterward, the guide has organized excursion by vehicle to Rawana Waterfall.
In the misty mountains of tropical Sri Lanka, the wide Ravana falls gushes down a height of 82 feet falling from an oval concave rock. It takes the form of a drooping areca flower during the peak season of its water flow, but its size is reduced dramatically during the dry season. Located in the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary in Ella, this waterfall is the source of many legends and secrets. This excursion will be end in 1 hour and the guide will bring you to Rawana Cave 15 minutes ride.
The renowned Rawana Cave is the place where Ravana had kept Sita after kidnapping her. It was once concealed in thick jungle, now it is covered by the 82 feet Ravana waterfalls and at its base, a pool is formed where Sita is believed to have taken baths. At this site, you may find an ancient temple, waterfalls and cave. This place is nearly 6 kilometers from the Ella railway station and 11 kilometers from Bandarwela. The cave is perched on a cliff of 1370 meters above sea level. Surprisingly, there is a tunnel at the back of the cave which goes to Ravana Eliya. Archaeological studies also confirmed the human habitation which is 25000 years old. Afterward, the guide has organized tour by vehicle to Nine Arch Bridge, 20 Minutes from Rawana Cave to Nine Arch Bridge..!
Nine Arch Bridge Demodara
Built at 3100m above sea level, among the craggy peaks of the Central Highlands; the Nine Arches forms a viaduct between the Demodara and Ella Railway stations. Built entirely out of brick, rock and cement; without a single piece of steel; the bridge has stood solid from 1921, its time of creation. According to history, the bridge was built by the locals using such materials; when the construction came to a standstill from the lack of steel caused by World War I. But, in addition to this history; lore abounds the creation of the bridge. The most famous story speaks of a man named P. K. Appuhami, who lived in the Kappatipola area in Welimada. Born in 1870, Appuhami was a famed traditional drummer and devil dancer (a ritual dance form). After this event the guides will pick you up and then, you will directly be transferred to the entrance of Little Adams’peak to see beauty of sun set from top of the peak.!
The beautiful tourism site in Sri Lanka, Little Adams Peak whether considering the word ‘Little’,it is named after the sacred Adams Peak (Sri Pada –where the foot print of Lord Buddha is preserved) regarding the similarity between the two mountains. Therefore the mountain was called as Little Adams Peak.
“Punchi Sri Pada” is another name for this peak. It is 1141 m in height. Little Adam’s Peak attracts many travelers who come to Sri Lanka. Gradually with an easy hike up to the mountain of Little Adams Peak you can consummation a worth panoramic view. You have to walk through lush green tea plantations, waterfalls and paddy fields while enjoying the sceneries.
It will be priceless if you could visit the place in the morning when the clouds roll in. Further places like Little Adams Peak deliberates ‘How far Sri Lanka is worth and rich with beautiful natural destinations of Sri Lankan tourism’. It will feel like a neck exercise for the visitors as you have to rotate your body to seek the views outstanding for 360 degrees. After this event the guides will pick you up and then, you will directly be transferred to the hotel or Ella city as you wish..

- Ella City Tour
Ella is a small mountain town in south central Sri Lanka in Uva Province (Sri Lanka’s fourth largest province). It is south of both Nuwara Eliya and Kandy, and about 100 kilometers north of Hambantota along the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka. Though Ella is only about 200 kilometers east of Colombo, the road into Ella is mountainous and windy, which means the relatively short drive will take you nearly 6 hours in a car or 10 hours by train.
If you are planning on visiting Ella, I recommend stopping over for a few nights either on your way down to the south coast from Sigiriya or Kandy, or on your way up to the Cultural Triangle from the south. I generally advise against traveling direct to Ella from Colombo due to the arduous travel times.
